Coopernook State Forest Free Camp
Here's one that just happens to be a 15 min drive from my house.
Coopernook State Forest is a free camp area with a flush toilet and fires and dogs are allowed.
It's about a 5 or 10 min drive off the Pacific Highway on a good dirt road.
Plenty of firewood to be collected around near by. Being a state forest this is ok.
The campground is a well maintained grassy and a level site with tall gum trees surrounding which protects from the sun and wind.
