Pemberton area - Warren River Drafty's campsite

Post by mgglasby on Fri Feb 04, 2011 4:40 pm

South west of Pemberton (past the Dave Evan's Bicentennial Tree) is a turn off to Heartbreak Trail. This is not suitable for caravans or big rigs but smaller vehicles should be ok. We took a campervan and trailer down there a few years back.

There are three campsites with the best one at Drafty's Camp. There is a huge campers kitchen and the Warren River runs right past, giving you access to trout fishing (get a license) and marron fishing (also get a license and obey season restrictions).

Again, set amid the majestic karri forest, this is a wonderful place to camp.

Access to the river has been greatly improved since we were las there.

It is a great place for canoeing and kayaking - no rapids

Cheers Mike

Another vote for Drafty's it is one of our favourites although it was a bit dry easter just gone, could not get far in the canoe without having to drag it over fallen trees Very Happy

Another good thing about Drafty's and theother sites on the Heartbreak trail is they are close to the Yeagarup dunes which are a favourite if you have kids.
